Comedian and writer Sophie Duker, recently seen on screens in hit comedy game show Taskmaster, has been announced as the host of the inaugural VAULT fundraising Gala. VAULT - the UK’s leading independent festival of live performance will head to the Assembly Hall of East London’s iconic Shoreditch Town Hall on 19th March for the VAULT Gala: Light at the End of the Tunnel to raise funds for their new cutting edge central London venue which is due to open later this year. The full line-up of the evening’s performers has also been announced which includes comedians Ogla Koch, Heidi Regan and Jodie Mitchell.
Known for her sell out stand-up shows HAG and Venus, Sophie Duker has appeared on Live at The Apollo (BBC 2), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4) and is the season 13 winner of Taskmaster (Channel 4). She will oversee an evening of bold and brilliant performances from comedians and drag performers, as well as cabaret, circus and performance artists that echo the spirit of VAULT’s mission to cultivate thriving creative communities and champion diverse artists. The line-up includes:
Olga Koch: stand up comedian and writer, with previous appearances on Mock The Week, Late Night Mash, Frankie Boyle's New World Order and Live at The Apollo.
Jodie Mitchell: Award winning comedian and Drag King, known for appearing in Drag King Collective Pecs, The LOL Word and Channel 4’s Jokes Only A Lesbian Can Tell.
Lolo Brow: Drag Queen Sideshow nut infamous for their award winning comedy burlesque acts including skills ranging from Fire to whips and lack of morality.
Pravanya Pillay: stand up comedian delivering surreal, observational comedy, self described as “like if Diana, Princess of Wales, did comedy”.
Mahatma Khandi: Drag Queen known for her reality TV appearances on MTV's True Love or True Lies, ITV’s Celebrity Drag Karaoke and in musicals at the Garrick, Lyceum, Pleasance Theatres and Royal Opera House.
Beau Jangles: Drag King Inspired by the worlds of Cab Calloway and Stonewall icon Stormé DeLarverie. Previously seen in West End all-drag panto Dick Whittington.
Heidi Regan: stand-up comedian and writer known for her work on Newsjack, The Now Show, The News Quiz, Have I Got News For You and Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back.
Amazíhoops: 2x Guiness World Record holding hula-hooper and West End performer, vibrant costumes, performance style and a touch of mystery.
Séayoncé: Comedy’s best ghost-whispering drag performer, previously seen at Soho Theatre, Latitude Festival, winner of the VAULT Festival After Dark Award 2020.
VAULT Gala: Light at the End of the Tunnel will take place on Tuesday 19th March at Shoreditch Town Hall, Assembly Hall with limited tickets available at www.wearevault.org/gala. Seats at the VAULT Gala are £230, with tables available for group bookings of 12 for £2760 or 6 for £1380. Tickets include a drinks reception, a sustainable three-course dinner by Juniper & Co, drinks by Lost and Grounded, a live auction of VAULT memorabilia and experiences and an evening of extraordinary entertainment.
